Stephen Kennelly

Stephen Kennelly is a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at ACRE, where he leads the firm’s capital markets platform and is responsible for originations, underwriting, portfolio management, and capital formation initiatives across ACRE’s private credit strategies.

Prior to joining ACRE, Mr. Kennelly spent more than seven years at Basis Investment Group, a $4 billion multi-strategy credit investment platform focused on bridge and mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and CMBS/CLO B-piece acquisitions. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the successful raise, management, and deployment of the firm’s first closed-end credit fund, which achieved over $400 million in equity commitments and more than $1 billion in transaction volume. Previously, Mr. Kennelly worked at AST Development, a multifamily development company, where he was responsible for acquisitions, underwriting, and oversight of luxury multifamily development projects.

Mr. Kennelly is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Montclair State University.
